Powder coating in special colour using the duplex process

Powder-coating wrought iron products is a high-quality surface finish. With the duplex process, the surface receives enhanced corrosion protection through multiple, successive coatings, thus enhancing quality. The service life is 1.2 to 2.5 times longer than the sum of the individual coatings. This ensures optimal protection, especially for highly stressed outdoor components, while simultaneously allowing for the implementation of color design preferences.

The following work processes are included:

1. Surface preparation by sandblasting
2. Cathodic dip coating (CDP coating): This surface sealing provides additional corrosion protection and protects the material from mechanical or chemical influences (stone chips, salt water), while also providing optimal pretreatment for subsequent powder coating.
3. Powder coating: The prepared surface is coated with powder coating and baked into the surface at temperatures up to 250°C. Coating with powder coatings with a 100% solids content requires no solvents. Coating with a RAL color is possible.

RAL colours

are standardized colors, each assigned a unique number. This allows specific color finishes (powder coating, varnish, or other paint finishes) to be specified, ensuring a consistent color tone, even across different materials or workpieces.

ELEO uses polyester powder in shade DB 703 with an iron mica effect as standard. This shade combines a very high-quality and elegant appearance and a pleasant feel with perfect surface protection.

Powder coating in a desired RAL color is also possible. The most common colors on wrought iron products include:

Technically, powder coating in light colours is also possible. However, we generally advise against it, as light colors, especially white, have not proven successful on wrought iron products, as these are very delicate and susceptible to dirt, and even the smallest scratches become clearly visible over time.
