Aluminium balcony or terrace railings are just as attractive as stainless steel ones. However, they are significantly lighter in weight. That said, aluminium is not as strong as stainless steel or wrought iron. The material is also more difficult to process and weld than steel, for example.

How can I make my railing decorative and practical?

A balcony railing is much more than just safety and decoration. From providing a shady spot to hanging flower boxes, you can use your railing in many different and practical ways.

Attaching a parasol: With a few simple steps and a little skill, you can attach a parasol to the posts of your railing. For balconies facing south, this provides effective protection from long periods of direct sunlight.

Hanging flower boxes: Balcony railings with a straight handrail are ideal for attaching flower boxes. Standard flower boxes can be easily hung on the railing. You can skilfully emphasise the classic, elegant look of a wrought-iron railing with lush, colourful flower boxes.
